Day 4 - We don't have to do anything!

Ok, so in the weeks leading up to the holiday we had done quite a bit of preparation and we had certainly looked forward to the "break" more than usual. In short we needed a rest day with nothing particular to do.

I woke earlyish with the sound of the ferry, first of the day at about 8:45 or so. This is not an unpleasant sound to be woken by. It had rained overnight but there was no rain during the day

The day rest gave us time to unpack, unwind, read the guest comments, watch the ferry come and go, watch the coaches full of foot passengers to Iona come and go. We walked on the beach, we checked out the local shop and purchased some supplies (the local shop is great, plenty supplies and friendly staff). We walked to check out the ferry sailing times. In the morning (8:45 onwards) and towards the end of the day (about 18:00) the times are listed, but during the day the ferry just comes and goes every 20 mins to 1/2 hour.

The house was very well insulated so was always warm. This was no doubt helped by the very mild weather. The views from the house are ever changing and even washing up is an acceptable chore as the view is just as good from the kitchen. We pretty soon felt right at home.

There was even a spectacular sunset, lighting the pink granite rock with great effect.

In the evening we went back to the pub for a meal, again there was a wait but it was well worth it. We also had some time to make plans for the coming days.

Zzzzz...
